The MR-L1MQN-01 is an LTO-1 tape by Quantum that has a native capacity of 100 GB and a compressed capacity of 200 GB like all other LTO tapes. The MR-L1MQN-01 also has a 20 MB/s native and 40 MB/s compressed transfer rate like all other LTO tapes as well. The MR-L1MQN-01 is compatible with LTO-1, LTO-2 and LTO-3 (read-only) tape drives and auto-loaders only. The MR-L1MQN-01 is not compatible with LTO-4 tape drives and auto-libraries only. The Quantum LTO-1 MR-L1MQN-01 also has a 4 Kb memory chip which allows quicker access to data and provides information regarding the past usage and errors history of the tape. Quantum LTO-1 tapes like the MR-L1MQN-01 achieve higher reliability and durability through the use of an ultra-thin coating of a magnetic layer.
